Late 2010 will see the release of the all new Friends with Ed website!
Both co-captain Jim and Steve-o are typing code as we speak...
Fellow Co Captain and avid designer Jim is working on one of his other companies new website as it has been left in an old poor state for far to many years!
This time round he will be building the site from the ground up using CSS and plenty of SEO tools to help push the site up through the search engines.
"I want this website to look extremely complex in the design and framework, but when you look at the code, the site is built really cleanly and simple
and all Googley!"
Jim
Steve-0 will also be digging deep into his bag of PHP and jQuery tricks in the development of the full Content Management System we will be bolting onto it. The end result should be a strong design, with good SEO and an amazing back end.
SuperVoucherCodes.co.uk was set up in response to the growing number of unscrupulous voucher code sites that appear to be popping up on an almost daily rate. As keen bargain hunters ourselves we were getting sick and tired at the shear amount of invalid codes and the increasingly dodgy tactics some sites were using in order to get you to click on their links (how many times have you clicked on a 'show all codes' link only to discover there are no codes?).
Our policy is simple. If there's a valid voucher code available we'll show it, nice and clear and with none of that 'click to reveal' nonsense. The end result is a clean and simple site that helps get you get the discounts you're after without sending you round the houses.
Website design and build using php, full cms system, and Google friendly seo. Done!
Medi-mation is a specialist visualization company that works almost exclusively in the fields of medicine and science.
They create some of the most advanced 3D animation and illustration available but within budgets that make such sought after digital assets economically viable. They needed a new website designed and built, and FwE were there to take on the project with some nifty jQuery treats coded in! Should be live any time now!
With an opportunity we couldn't turn down, and as a great opportunity in our ever increasing learning curve with CSS, Google gave us a white letter opportunity to design and build an affiliate Bingo driven website, that we would have the opportunity of ranking highly on Google.
Branding, design and build is under way for the beta version of the Prize Fighter online store.
A design from a series I have been working on for Prize Fighter, and a run of kids tees they are wanting to do. Wanted something fun, but something the dads could enjoy too!
We have once again teamed up with our good old pal and studio buddy Patch to do the CSS lead build on the Price's Golf Course website. This includes a heavy CMS backend and SEO set up site.
The team at Friends with Ed have recently teamed up with Patch from Dan Patching Designs to build and code the CMS driven website for Mud Mania.
As more of project of ideas and experimenting with new textures and realising that skulls and the darker side to design will always be a classic look, we decided to through a few ideas around to see what the out come would be.

So some guy can make $10000 a day from making an iPhone application that simulates our most comical bodily function. If the rumours are to be true (and who’s to doubt Britain’s finest, The Guardian) then the genius creator of the iFart application seems to be on to something here! So how hard can it be to get a piece of the apple pie (excuse the pun) and code our own friendswithed iPhone application?
I’ve got plenty of coding years behind me so this should hopefully help me hit the ground running. But wait what’s this…Objective-C. What the hell is that? Apparently it’s what drives the iPhone and unfortunately for me it’s a language that I have no experience in whatsoever. A quick bit of Googling tells me that Objective-C is basically the C language with a few bells and whistles attached. According to TIOBE Programming Community Objective-C is now the 13th most popular programming language (as of October 2009). Interesting, especially when you notice that only a year ago Objective-C was clinging on for dear life with a lowly position of 49. Apple’s selection of Objective-C has clearly had an incredible effect on the uptake of this previously little used language. As a non C programmer myself this really doesn’t help me out in any way so whether I object to Objective-C or welcome it with open arms I really don’t have much choice as it’s the only way forward. So it’s off to Amazon our trusty virtual bookstore.
Objective-C for dummies and Beginning iPhone 3 Development in the bag, signed sealed and delivered. Specs at the ready it’s time to become a serious bookworm for the next week. See you on the other side…
